St James Medical Centre is a designated training practice and usually employs a GP Registrar for six or twelve months at a time, and F2 Doctor for four months.
The Registrar is a qualified doctor undergoing postgraduate GP education whilst gaining experience of working in general practice.
F2 Doctors are hospital doctors who spend time working in General Practice. They hold their own surgeries and are supervised by a training Partner.
Registrars and F2 Doctors regularly hold joint surgeries with one of the practice doctors. You will be informed if this is the case.
Medical students and Nursing students attend the practice from time to time. We hope that you will co-operate with us and help the students to learn about general practice. However, you will be informed of their presence in advance, and if you do not want them to be present at a consultation, your wishes will be respected. This will not affect your treatment in any way.
